Auricular (ear) therapy can be used as a stand alone treatment or as adjunctive to body acupuncture. Like body acupuncture the effects of the treatment can frequently be immediately felt. People are often impressed that they can suddenly move that stiff shoulder or back with reduced pain following the application of a tiny ear seed (it can seem like magic).

Most of the things treated with normal acupuncture can also by treated with auricular therapy.

In many cases I use auricular treatments as a touch up during a normal acupuncture session. For instance, if I am treating neck pain and stiffness, I will check your range of motion before your session starts and then afterwards. If there is not enough improvement following acupuncture i will then apply treatment to the ear, normally in the form of ear seeds or magnets. I will then re-assess your movement for positive change. In most cases this will bring about immediate increased range and reduction in pain.
